Vision & Objective

However, despite its dark side and environmental impact, cryptocurrencies offer multidimensional benefits, including transaction speed, privacy, security, and decentralization. Cryptocurrencies contribution in decentralised financial transaction are borderless. And its growth seems unstoppable, many countries has accepted as valid payment and transactions although lawmakers still fighting to regulate it. It means sooner or later worldwide will accept, adapt and implement cryptocurrencies or its blockchains.

Therefore, it’s essential to push knowledge and awareness about its impact to environment, how to reduce it and to cope with the damage has been done. Few mining activities already migrated to more eco-friendly and renewable energy such as water, wind and volcano powered. Some blockchains also migrated or implementing Proof of Stake (PoS) mechanism. One of the most successful migrations and become the largest blockchain on PoS is Ethereum (ETH).

Carbon Footprint (Annual): 62.51 Mt CO2

Electrical Consumption (Annual): 112.06 TWh

Carbon Footprint (Annual): 0.01 Mt CO2

Electrical Consumption (Annual): 0.01 TWh

We as crypto enthusiast indirectly also responsible and contribute to this ‘destructive environmental impact’.

All of us invested in crypto currencies and blockchains are looking for good and sustainable investment for a better life for our family and future. But let’s not just think of ‘sustainable investment’, let’s also start to think of the sustainable of our environment and earth. Crypto mining with fossil fuels is just one of hundreds environmental problems that we can’t tackle all at once

The list of transgressions includes everything from clear-cutting forests to pumping out planet-warming greenhouse gasses. That is contributing to a rapid decline in biodiversity; one in eight species is now on the path to extinction. The World Economic Forum has identified biodiversity loss and ecosystem collapse as one of the five most-severe risks facing humanity over the next decade.

The biodiversity crisis is like a ticking time bomb. Nearly all businesses ultimately rely on either natural resources or natural services, like the pollination of plants by animals, for their continued operation.

The hope is that increased scrutiny will push humanity to stop damaging the natural world and, eventually, start restoring what has been lost. One-fifth of earth’s land is now degraded. Our lakes are shriveling up. Our forests are disappearing. Our farms are turning into dustbowls.

This degradation affects the well-being of more than 3 billion people and the problem is only expected to get worse. The restoration and reviving those areas is urgently needed as soon as possible.

Our mother earth is on critical phase for protection and revival of ecosystems. Restoration improves livelihoods, lowers poverty, builds resilience to extreme weather and slows the triple planetary crisis of climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, and pollution and waste.

We at AfterHalving ($ATH) are inviting everyone to join our community to hand in hand in our race to restoration. Now is the time to move from committing to action to acting on commitments to prevent, halt and reverse ecosystem degradation. Our objective is to encourage crypto enthusiast to have awareness and join our cause, make profitable investment while also giving something in return to mother earth.

We are the first generation to now fully understand the immense threats to the land – and might be the last one with a chance to reverse the course of destruction.

Our priority now must be on restoring ecosystems, on replanting our forests, on rewetting our marshes, on reviving our soils.

Restoration can create havens for wildlife, helping to foil the extinction crisis gripping our planet.

Preserve and restore our earth for the future of our grandchildren…

We will collaborate with world foundations related to environment such as UNEP, WWF and others to donate, participate and contribute to their timely actions such as mangrove plantation, tree planting and conservations.
